Following the advice from the Government and direction from the Church of Scotland, it is with regret that all our church buildings are closed for worship and any other activities, including outside agencies and our youth and adult organisations.

We are still presenting worship via our Facebook page.  Monday to Saturday we are posting our daily prayer service from the Manse, and likewise our live stream at 1100am each Sunday. We hope in due course to post these videos on our website, and we shall let you know via our Facebook page as soon as this gets up and running.  We shall also post a video reflection each day during Holy Week.  If anyone would like these scripts emailed to them, please send an email request to JMurning@churchofscotland.org.uk

if you, or anyone you know - whether a member of SGC or not, is self-isolating and are in need of support (e.g. picking up essentials from the supermarket or collecting prescriptions) please let us know either by contacting the manse or by sending us a message via Facebook. Please don’t sit at home in need, and don’t be uncomfortable about asking for help.

If no one is available to take your name and number at the manse, please leave the details on the answer machine.

We would encourage everyone to keep in touch with each other by telephone.  Our elders are encouraged to make contact by phone, and the Minister will also be doing his utmost to speak to as many people as possible during this time of isolation. Due to personal restrictions Mr Murning will be unable to visit anyone either in hospital or at home and would encourage you to let him know about any situations that you need help with, so that support can be given.

WEDDINGS AND BAPTISMS will not be taking place in the foreseeable future, and FUNERAL SERVICES are being restricted to immediate family only.

CHURCH OFFICE is now closed, and people should contact the manse with any enquiries.

PASTORAL CARE SURVEY AND MEMBERSHIP DETAILS have been or are about to be in the hand of all our members, and we would encourage you to return the forms by post to help us complete this work, and to plan appropriate ways to care for everyone, and to ensure we have the right contact details for you.  These forms should only take a few moments to fill in, and the work on this had begun prior to all the restrictions being put in place, so please don’t feel we are being insensitive toward anyone at this crisis time.

Further updates will be posted in this rapidly changing situation.  Remember you are the church, not the building, and everyone can play their part in being a friend to others. Perhaps through all this we shall emerge stronger and more able to continue the life, work and mission of Sherwood Greenlaw, and serve the people of Paisley faithfully.
