Rainbows is a pre-Brownie organisation, open to girls of five and over. The meetings are full of games and activities which provide challenging opportunities for Rainbows to think for themselves and take an active part in unit decision making.
Everything a Rainbow does helps her to develop – it is an opportunity to look, learn, laugh and love.
Sherwood Greenlaw Rainbows meet on a Thursday evening in the church hall.
Further information can be obtained from Mrs Marjory Crae, via the Church office.
The Rainbow Promise
Rainbows make this simple promise that they share with members around the world:
I promise that I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful.
It has been a busy few months for the Rainbows. We welcomed 9 new recruits to our unit in September all of whom have made their promise.
We have had a variety of games nights, craft evenings and a Halloween themed night. Some of the girls attended the Remembrance Day service. In addition we have had a visit from our representative elders from the Kirk Session.
We are currently working on the 'Express Myself-Communicate' Skill Builders badge and will soon be on the countdown to Christmas. We finish for Christmas on 19th December and are hoping that we have been well behaved enough for a visit from a very special gentleman!
As previously intimated, the unit is currently full and we are now operating a waiting list. If anyone wishes their daughter to join us please register her on the parents' section of the Girlguiding UK web site and we will try and accommodate her as soon as possible. (Our unit is 3rd East Paisley)
We would like to thank the congregation for their continued support of the unit and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes. Please feel free to come along one evening to see a little bit of what we get up to or to share your talents with us.
Date for your diary: Our annual coffee morning will be held on the 1st February 2020. Tickets will be available nearer the time.
