Rainbows is a pre-Brownie organisation, open to girls of five and over. The meetings are full of games and activities which provide challenging opportunities for Rainbows to think for themselves and take an active part in unit decision making.
Everything a Rainbow does helps her to develop – it is an opportunity to look, learn, laugh and love.
Sherwood Greenlaw Rainbows meet on a Thursday evening in the church hall.
Further information can be obtained from Mrs Marjory Crae, via the Church office.
The Rainbow Promise
Rainbows make this simple promise that they share with members around the world:
I promise that I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful.
The Rainbows have had a busy few months. One of our girls moved on to Brownies and we welcomed two new girls to our unit. We have been learning about our senses and what it would be like to be without one of them. We played games blind folded and had great fun trying to draw with our feet.
We celebrated Chinese New Year by making lanterns and are helping the new girls with their promise.
We would like to thank Mrs Anderson for giving up her Thursday evening to help us make beautiful flower arrangements which we sold at our Coffee Morning. This was probably the busiest Coffee Morning we have had for a long time and we would like to thank everyone who helped make it a success-especially those who donated baking or gave up their time to help set up, serve and clear up afterwards. We raised £557 and as promised have donated the bulk of the proceeds to the Fundraising Committee.
The 22nd February is Thinking Day when we remember Lord and Lady Baden-Powell and the work they did setting up both the Scout and Guiding movements. In Sherwood Greenlaw we celebrated with a service on the 23rd which we hope you enjoyed.
We are always on the lookout for new activities for the girls. So if you have a skill or talent that you’d be willing to share with us please do not hesitate to contact one of the leaders or drop the unit an email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
