About Us


As a Church of Scotland congregation, we seek to make known the relevance of the Christian message to the lives of people living in the 21st century, and to give opportunities to everyone to discover God’s plan and purpose for the world and everyone in it.




worship services are held as follows:




11.00 a.m. An opportunity for everyone to join in worship. The young people have their own Junior Church and there is a crèche for the smallest children.




6.30 p.m. A service of healing and wholeness takes place on the last Sunday of the Month from April until September.  This is a very informal reflective service, where prayers for healing are offered for individuals or situations in the world.




10.45 a.m. Every Wednesday from October to May, a short informal service of reflection and praise


Tea coffee and biscuits are served following our morning and midweek services




The church also has several special services throughout the year;


GUIDE THINKING DAY 11.00 a.m. held on the Sunday after 22nd February.


LENTEN PRAYER 10.45 a.m. A daily time of Prayer during the season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday each year.


COMMUNION 11.00 a.m. is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday in March and June and the 1st Sunday in October and December. Also, the last Sunday of the month from April to September at 6.30 p.m.


EASTER & HOLY WEEK include services Munday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 1045 a.m. On Thursday and Friday, we meet in the evening at 7.30 p.m., and on Easter day we have a service in the Peace Garden in Barshaw Park at 8.30 a.m. followed by breakfast at church, and our Easter Day service is at 11.00 a.m.


UNIFORMED SERVICE 11.00 a.m. for youth organisations normally 2nd Sunday in May


JUNIOR CHURCH CELEBRATION 11.00 a.m. normally 1st Sunday in June.


PENTECOST CELEBRATION 11.00 a.m. normally end of May or early June.


HARVEST CELEBRATION 11.00 a.m. normally first Sunday in September.


BB ENROLLMENT DAY 11.00 a.m. normally third Sunday in September.


REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 10.45 a.m. Sunday closest to 11th November.


BLUE CHRISTMAS 7.30 p.m. Our annual memorial service for all the things we have lost takes place the last Wednesday in September.


CHRISTMAS includes our All Age Carol Service on the 3rd Sunday in Advent, and our All Age Nativity on the 4th Sunday in Advent at 11.00 a.m. A Christmas Eve service takes place at 23.15 p.m. and a Christmas Day celebration at 11.00 a.m.



These may include; Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christian Unity, Christian Aid, St Andrews Day, All Saints Day, Racial Justice Sunday, Earth Hour, World Refugee Sunday, Songs of Praise Services and many more occasional events are celebrated from time to time.
